• I have a law degree and an arts degree with a major in English Literature, both from the University of Queensland.
• I was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland after completing my articles of clerkship at Carter Capner Lawyers.
• Additionally, I studied screenwriting at City University in London. I’ve helped to write and produce seven short films in the UK, as well as writing song lyrics for the film soundtracks.
• I’m also a trained actor and voiceover artist, having attended The Academy Drama School in London.
• From 2000 until 2010 in the UK, I researched, wrote and edited content for a range of publications at international legal publishing company Chambers and Partners.
• I was Deputy Editor of ‘Chambers UK: A Guide to the UK’s Leading Lawyers’ from 2008 to 2010.
• After leaving Chambers and Partners, I worked for PCA Law as an experiential trainer.
• My work for PCA Law also included writing and editing a variety of articles and blog posts for the PCA Law website and social media platforms.
• My recent UK work includes writing and editing Excello Law’s legal practice area submissions for the ‘Chambers UK’ publication.
• Also in the UK, I recently wrote and edited the scripts for the videos on the website of the International Project on Cardiovascular Disease in Russia (IPCDR). I then recorded voiceover narration for these videos.
• In Australia, I wrote and edited articles for the website of Go to Court Lawyers.
• I also wrote and edited website content, social media posts and marketing material for Doo-Bop Jazz Bar in Brisbane.
• In addition, I worked as a lead editor at Firefly Education, producing teaching materials for primary and secondary schools throughout Australia.
• Furthermore, I worked as a legal directories editor and head of the Asia Pacific desk for the British legal PR company MD Communications.
• Another recent job involved writing and editing online content for the website of top legal publisher LexisNexis. I also wrote a series of articles for the company’s go-to-market strategy targeting small law firms in Australia in 2022.
• I continue to work on a freelance basis as an editor, copywriter and content writer, especially for Australian and British clients.
• I’m now working for the global copywriting agency Mother Tongue as a copywriter and editor on various projects in the Australian market. The clients I’ve worked for include:
- a leading professional networking website;
- a widely used digital voice assistant;
- a popular dating app;
- a well-known video sharing platform;
- a top car manufacturer; and
- a major household appliances manufacturer.
• Lastly, I now work for Kidd Aitken Legal Marketing as a senior consultant. I lead an international team in writing and editing marketing submissions for law firms around the world in relation to various legal directories (including Chambers and Legal 500).
